Homemade table saw rip fence extension intended to support full plywood sheets.

Absolutely essential! Without this, it's extremely difficult to guide a full 8x4' sheet onto a tablesaw without it wobbling against the rip fence. Because panels are usually guided by hand along beside a rip fence, wobble of the panel can cause unrecoverable drift and gouges in the cut that throw accuracy off by as much as 1/8" or more. This is undesirable. The fence extension solves this problem by providing a longer surface area for the edge of the plywood to push against. This hold the sheet more stable while you make the cut. It's very necessary improvement for accuracy of the cut.
