DESCRIPTION:
Homemade dowel maker consisting of a maple block drilled to the desired dowel size. The dowel blank is fashioned from square stock on a table saw, then mounted in a drill, spun in the predrilled hole, and shaped to its final contour by a wood chisel clamped to the maple block.

just make the diameter of the starter hole slightly larger than the hypotenuse of the square stock prior to the cutting action of the wood chisel.

Seems to me you can't put a square peg in a round hole..guess I'd have to see it in action..
