Great video, but please please PLEASE don't use just any soldering pencil for this, unless that's ALL you use it for!!

Zip ties are made from lots of different materials. It is very difficult to know for sure what you have.
If the flame is yellow with blue edges, there is a good chance it's ABS.Originally Posted by jimfols

plastic repair
with so many things made with plastic anymore, this is a valuable piece of information. Now I wish I had back some of the things I've thrown away so I could fix them!

Have you tried using them in a hot glue gun? Cut lengths of 3D printer filament too!
