    Wager those wing tip casters only held up for one or two recoveries. We've all seen tire speed of full size treads, at many times the diameter. Serious FPM, to be sure.

    Good point. I think the U2 had those little wheels on the wings. The fuselage was so slender that the landing gear was just two inline wheels. I think the landing probably involved only the center wheels until the plane slowed. With a proper landing anyway. It looks like the Yak 28 worked the same way.
