The Writer automaton - GIF

The Writer is a clockwork automaton capable of writing words and sentences of up to 40 characters. It is one of three automata built by the Swiss watchmaker Pierre Jaquet-Droz, his son Henri-Louis, and Jean-Frédéric Leschot in the 1770s.
