The first time I saw such a tool was at my local auto-parts store.
What interested me most was that it was made by Chestnut Tools, a local off-shoot from Lee Valley Tools founder Leonard Lee.

Their version had magnets to help hold the wrench.
Here are my versions:
Not pretty, but pretty useful when you need them.
The handle on the small one is 1" by 1/4" steel bar.
The big one uses 1" square tubing for the handle.
Both use cutoff scraps of steel angle.
