It looks like that little plane would be a blast to fly and quieter than any combustion engine plane could ever be.
I wonder what kind of range it would have. and if the entire upper surface were made of photovoltaic cells could the range be slightly extended.

Oh well 15 minutes of flying time cut another 10% for take offs it would give me just enough juice to fly from home, land at the air port near town then fly back. the problem there is the airport is 10 minutes out of town by driving and I live 15 minutes from town so no advantage unless I landed on the highway in town. it is wide enough but the trucks constantly going through town may be a problem guess I'll have to wait for an electric helicopter LOL

With some upgraded brakes this 16 feet wingspan and 395 lbs MTO weight A/C could get you landed in a downtown parking lot.
I'm not sure of its eventual short takeoff possibilities though. Just add a JATO bottle for that real kick in the butt...
As it's a homebuilt type, I assume there's some leeway...

I doubt if you would even want an 8as-200 the precursor to the JATO junior 12-250 on an air frame as lightweight as that one. Maybe you could build a micro JATO of around 100 lbs thrust for 7 to 8 seconds. and get away with it. But the real ticket would be to stay with a fueled engine possibly going with a rotary design wankel type they have them from 20cc developing 3 hp on alcohol on up the Ar741 would be way too large to have 2 of those 23.5 lb monsters developing around 38 hp each would rip it apart but something in the 10 lb range less than half the size of the Ar741s would be about right. or 1 such engine could be mounted to a generator and used instead of having batteries on board to power the electric motors might even be a solution
