While in the process of making my two cylinder steam engine the need to hold some small pieces vertical and drill precisely located holes that were the same for both parts I modified a 3" 4 Jaw chuck for mounting on my micro mill. First I put a groove on the circumference and made three clamps to fit the grooves. Clamps have a .030" relief on the bottom for parallel clamping. The only disadvantage is when making more than one part the setup will need to be indicated in for each part.
Then I thought about my face plate fixture for turning off center parts on the lathe. Why not use that on the mill?

Advantage is that it will not have to be indicated in for each part. Have not tried it yet but it should work fine. I have all of my parts and tooling ready to start this steam engine build. Should keep me busy for a day or two!....Ha Ha
