    Woodworker

    Hello,
My name is Pres. I am a 71 year old woodworker who is finally going to try and sell some of the things I make. I would say I am fairly good at woodworking. I have built some pretty nice cabinets and furniture for our home. I am in the process of setting up my shop again. I had a very nice shop, but was forced to sell all my "stuff" when you thought we were going to have to move to a smaller house. Fortunately, we were able to stay where we were, so I'm trying to get started again. I really like the idea of making most of my own tools. Not only for the experience, but for the cost savings. My latest project will be converting a cheap table saw to one that is bigger and more accurate. Still looking for ideas about how to make the top and fence. Just now found your web site, and am looking forward to reading how some of the contributors build their equipment. Good luck in all your future woodworking endeavors.

Hi Pres - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

I'm interested in your thoughts on the cheap table saw improvement. Which builds have you see that gave you ideas?

    Hi Pres,

    Welcome!

I hear you on having endured a downsizing-related tool selloff and then trying to reconstruct your shop. I sold a fair number of tools years ago for the same reason and know exactly how you feel. Glad to hear that your shop is on its way back!

If you have any pics of the table saw project underway, please do post them. Lots of guys will be interested…

Welcome to the forums, Pres! Good luck on that table saw modification, and I hope you get some ideas on doing that from this site.
