Here is another tool I made for woodturning, starting from the same HSS 6mm diameter round rod (from a machining store).
Here it is brazed at the end of a soft steel rod, inserted in a woodturning handle.
The HSS tip is grounded with two faces, at an angle.
This kind of little skew is very handy to turn little beads for instance and little pieces like pens.
Using this kind of HSS tips is saving a lot a money compared to a full solid HSS tool, for which only a little part really needs to be hard.
