    A Wire Forming Tool

I need to deform 0.15-inch diameter steel rod so it would pass over another rod of the same diameter. It had to be a close fit because I next silver brazed them together.

I present how I designed, fabricated, and used the tool that made this task easy.

Nice simple forming die agreed cold rolled steel would have been longer lasting.

when I want to make a punch or a die that will almost last as long as O1 tool steel I use ASTM 514B T1 steel then harden and temper it. but I use a lot of T1 in fabrication so scraps of it is often on hand.
