About a month ago we drove to Abilene there were a couple trains on a sidling loaded with blades from what we could see there were probably enough blades to outfit maybe 10 turbines on each train. This makes a lot of sense to me to be able to transport in volume to as close to the final destination as possible. Faster more economical less possibility of transport damage comes to mind first.
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Convoys of these blades pass through the little town close to me at least once every week normally it will be 3 trucks and 6 escorts but occasionally there are as many as 8 trucks and 18 escorts. I don't have enough land to have one even though the property has nearly a half mile road frontage If I could talk the school teacher who owns the 500 acres to the East of me into forming a partnership then on my extreme North end of the property there would be an excellent location wind wise for a turbine lease hold 1 could be placed on my place and as many as 6 on his due to the lay of the land. the wind rights and the location lease would yield both of us a nice residual income what he would get even if only 2 were placed on his property would more than pay his land tax every year. obviously just 1 on me would pay the taxes and leave a sizeable portion left over. the only thing being less then 2100 ft from the house it would be a little close to residence activity, but the smaller sized turbines would not bother me I think.
