If I were to get a tattoo for every 10mm socket I've lost I'd have to borrow skin from all the regulars on these forums to have a place for the ink.
which reminds me of a funny. one day I was searching for a 10 mm 6 pt. socket and a 13mm socket someone had borrowed from my set and hadn't put them back in their proper places after searching through half a dozen drawers one of the guys walked up as asked what was wrong.
I told him I'm missing a 10 & 13mm sockets.
With a real serious look on his face he said why won't you just use a 23 it adds up to the same as a 10 & 13 does doesn't it?
All I could do was just give him a blank stare, I later found the sockets in another tool box along with several other wrenches that had been awol for a while.

Reminds me of a quip, think it was a female comedian. She was on about Christmas gifts for men and wrenches, lets say hex keys. Holding up a fist full, "there's 1mm differences between each one, WTF's up with that?"

well crap!! I smell a law suit comming on...none of my tools were labeled as such and they all seem to flee when let loose....hell Im building a barn now and have 10 tape messures and as soon as I set one down to grab a pencil that sucker has already fled the seen...to join the other 8 or 9 useless lazy non working tape measures..and some of them are quite kinky I think they are having some sort of kinky training session on getting out of work,,,,,,,they have invited the 6 hammers & screw bits too join in, I reckon somebodys getting hammered and screwed. it's about to wear me out.

The other day I got tired of having most of my sockets in the single large drawer of my big tool box so I drag out a standard sized roll cabinet tool box with 5 drawers in it. In 1 of the half width drawers I loaded in my 1/4" faction inch sockets the drawer to its right the 1/4" metrics the second drawer under them I divided down the middle the 3/8" sockets went in there factional on the left metrics on the right the 3rd drawer was dedicated for ratchets extensions breakover bars adapters and swivels.
In to the next drawer went the 1/2" drive sockets but not all would fit and there was no drawer below it so I will salvage a couple drawers from another cabinet and install them in it later To be able to have a similar arrangement.
Funny thing was when I started dumping in all of the sockets and trying to achieve some semblance of order I began finding lots of 10 mm and 3/8" sockets dozens of them in fact Now I may have to make a complete separate section in a drawer which will contain nothing but 10mm & 3/8" sockets.
What's up with that? Could it be that since I began arranging the sockets all of the errant 10mm & 3/8" sockets decided to come home or could it possibly mean that every time I visit a pawn shop I make a special point in purchasing bagful's of loose sockets and I am winding up with everyone's missing 10mm & 3/8" sockets if you think I may have one of your missing sockets send me a picture of the one that went missing along with a certified DR's DNA report and the FBI's fingerprint file on the socket I will have these sockets examined by a forensic specialist to determine if they may be one of your escaped sockets. I did lock them in a drawer so they can not escape until their identity is established. They are an unruly lot I might add, every time I open the drawer they try to hide among themselves hoping I won't notice them while they make their attempt at escaping.

I once emptied the tool box on my Peterbilt cabover all the way to the back and I found my Ingersoll impact that had been missing for at least two years. Needed to do that more often.

If you need another roll around tool chest and don't have the bucks you can find an old metal tanker desk, somethimes given away on Craigslist, take the top off and mount the drawer cabinets vertical, put a cover on the top, casters on the bottom and Bob's yer uncle.

I have half a dozen roll arounds 3 center boxes and 4 top boxes plus 1 snap on box that is 5 ft wide 7 ft tall as my main box and another snap -on top box that is 4 ft wide it is safe to say I'm boxed up in that area but thanks for the info though. I could order a used snap on box from Ebay for about what it would cost me in fuel to drive to pick up a free box just about anywhere
What I like to do is find tool boxes at equipment auctions they sometimes go cheap and are usually full of tools

That's a fact. I've seen tool boxes with a good number of tools go for literally pennies on the dollar. Often, when a spouse passes on the widow will just want to get rid of her husband's tools and will take next to nothing for them, though I tend to offer fair value because it's right.
