Hi All, thought I would start a thread about the Warco Lathe, a version of the Chinese made lathe that is sold in the UK. I've had a Warco WM240B from new for some years now and all has been fine, then last week I switched it off and could not switch it back on.
I pulled the panel off and did some basic measurements of continuity with a DVM, but what shocked me most was the rats nest of wires:
After messing around I rewired the machine with a simple NVR switch
What is most interesting is that I now get an instant on and the machine doesn't hesitate - there must have been an issue with the original wiring as it would start and then after a few 10s of seconds it would shudder.
I also did some basic diagrams of the wiring for a capacitor start / capacitor run induction machine that might help some people:

I will add some more posts about this lathe to this thread.
Cheers, Nigel
