    Vise for irregular shapes

    Hello.
    I missed a vice in which I could mount an irregularly shaped object. I got the idea that I would make a vice with screws screwed into the jaws of the vice. Thanks to this, I will be able to catch the object regardless of its shape.

    Nice! Thanks for sharing.

    Do you ever need to tighten the screws to apply a downward pressure? If not, it would seem that some dowels and plain holes could work.

    I don't know how to weld and do not have access to someone who does, but I am going to try your idea simply by making some auxiliary jaws for my existing vise.

    Very good idea, you can never have to many holding fixtures, I use to have a cabinet full of holding and clamping fixtures, i use to make a lot of tools a few years back.
