My father was a technical illustrator in the Air Force and had one of these sets. I was fortunate enough to have him teach me the nuances of the lettering set. When I went to high school I enrolled in mechanical drawing and architectural drawing classes. I was way ahead of the curve when it came to lettering my drawings. I loved using it. Wish I still had it.

I still have a set from my father in law. He was a draftsman at Western Electric. There are several different size templates and various size pens appropriate to the letter size.

It still takes a steady delicate touch to use it.
