re; post *1. A nice oil cup appears about 2:04 into the tape. Marv Klotz published equations for that variety inverted oil cup, rendering it spill proof.
Remainder presents one of the many off-table stock supports used in milling machines; most do not incorporate vise clamping as well.

I wish I had Pieczynski's machining talent.
He has his DRO scale on the back side of the table, That contributes to the overhang length. I have a Wells-Index version of this, and this sort of setup for long work, I mount a large angle plate to the mill table, then clamp the work to the backside of that angle plate. The face of that plate is flush with the back edge of the mill table.
I was able to bore out the cylinders on my Onan engine and that is opposing cylinder configuration. So no way there is room under the spindle and table.
A few years ago, I bored 10" deep holes in the end of douglas fir 4x4s, so I could use them as stair way hand rail balcony newel posts. The holes are 1.5" diameter, and the idea was to make it removable when moving large things up or down the stairs. I made a weldment below the finished floor level that held the 1.5" cold rolled steel pins that these balcony newel posts mounted on. I used a forstner bit, that I made a long extension to reach that deep.
