A little cornfrustable in how the pile on the left disappears while it is moving away from a finished trench.

Theyve made a mistake with the editing. Its running backwards. The trencher is actually moving towards the camera as it "digs"

Good eye, but I believe the mistake is mine in not mentioning this. Reversing GIFs is a new internet trend. Some are useful, some are done as a joke, and some present cool mysteries. This same technique is also being done on photos:

I think I've missed my calling and may have reached a viral limitation in juxtapositional therapy, but as we all know and as Richard Bach so aptly said "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours".
