    My next door neighbor is now 93. He served on another one of the Balao-class submarine (USS Bowfin is in this class) in the Pacfic during WWII and is one of the few remaining American WWII submariners. The Navy invites him to many of their submarine events for thanking the remaining WWII submariners. Great photo.

    USS Bowfin SS-287, is open for tours in area dedicated to USS Arizona BB-39, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument.
    Plan to spend entire day.
