    I saw someone do this using cheap (dollar store grade) needle files as a poor man's hard facing rod on some sort of tool, may have been a small hammer of some sort. Sam idea and reportedly worked well enough for the application at hand. Lots of options if you use your imagination I guess.

    I have been a Boilermaker for 40 years and have been looking fore something as a filler for hard-facing with Tig. I will give it a go,

    I wish i could weld up some camshafts and have reground for roller lifters....among other things.

    marksbug - Camshafts are usually made out of one of the grades of Cast iron, not something easily welded.

    welds camshafts for his specials.
