Good idea. The corners of the big nut don't offer enough friction for my fingers. Cut from an old file (coarseness 2 or 3) two 1x1" pieces and glue them each to an 2x1" aluminum angle. Procure that these top-heavies don't fall off the vise jaws. Then clamp a thumb-nut between opposite corners and tighten a bit (5 min on a clock dial). Torque is not worse than a knurled nut.
