How about this for an unusual front suspension, made by FN and won the ISDT in 1948 ridden by a Belgian Auguste Mingels, I imagine the trailing link more suited to rough terrain than road work.
Taken from Sammy Millers museum on YouTube which I watch a lot.

The FN is an often forgotten marque but they had some interesting designs. One being an inline 4 mounted N/S. Trailing link forks can give a very smooth ride but in general they have a lot of steered inertia, much more than Earles forks of similar strength. These were done by FN to soak up the ripples from Belgian pave.
If I ever get back to England I must go to visit Sammy Miller's museum. He has got some great stuff there.
