Somehow I never liked gimmicks like those. That last one with the carousel is ok as it is a basic tool for serving.

Novel or practical, I don't know. I see this more along the line of a robotic sweeper.
Hope those don't ally thinking we'll surrender Earth. EAT THIS OR ELSE!

OK First place the dishes on a lazy Susan give it a spin then walk around and position them correctly I can we the advantage of doing it this way.
"NOT"
Want to impress someone completely set up the place settings in a 5 star setting then spin the Susan and have everything land in the proper places
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products
Here's what I think; to be clear, comment is not directed at any eastern HMT.net members.
No reactions are visible by any of the 5, the place setter or hostesses. 4 standing with hands folded, instead should be carrying 10 plates each, setting 4 tables in slightly more elapsed time. 5th joining that detail, group could complete 5 tables simultaneously walking between rows. Add 2 busboys; carts full of plates. Each attending her 'section' of each table, sort of a marching band parade maneuver.
This might be a restaurant, more likely preps for a buffet. Whatever, I cannot imagine why anyone would stage this, let alone record. Doesn't address any sort of service etiquette.
GIF demonstrates 7 plates in ~10 seconds, just under 1.429 seconds, equate 10 plates at average 15 seconds per table. No lost motion manipulating turntable, and they'd be distributed evenly, not haphazard.
If waste of available labor supposedly demonstrates degrees of opulence, I'm not buying it. Otherwise, a poor display of "our nation has low unemployment percentage"
Having overseen a few kinds of service with enthusiastic directees, what do such theatrics compensate or gain?
A script includes lines that read
"Go out west somewhere. Open a fine restaurant.
I'm gonna be the maitre d'.
Greet all the swells.
Go to work every day in a bow tie, tuxedo.
And all the staff say "yes, sir" and..."no, sir"...and "in a jiffy, Pete".
And all my meals for free.
"
Best personification of supervision ever.

Having lived in Shanghai for 5.5 year, and eaten at so many of these tables, and watched many tables being turned, I've never seen this actually done like this.
I think none of them are a supervisor... I think this is one person showing off to the rest of her colleagues, and one of them is videoing on her phone.
The gal on the left kind of has a smirk on her face.
