With 26 years US Military, I have a good [but less impending] idea of what dealing with oppression is about.
We hope Ukraine demonstrates resilience as did Afghanistan. With Russia not being quite regime of Soviet Union, the rules will be hard to determine.
Sorry to say, I seriously doubt any effectiveness will be rendered by our current, confused and conflicted administration.
Sincerely,

Likewise, only with 24 years in the US military. Ran into this song shortly after 9/11. It pretty much encapsulates how I feel about dealing with invaders. The song is called March of Cambreadth, by Heather Alexander. Good luck and God Bless to all your people in defending your Country, Andrii.
My wife says to tell you that your people need to get the Russian people on your side, as well. Treat the POW's you take well, and get their families on your side. Persuade them to remove Putin and their invading forces. Your folks have much in common with them, even though you are also very different. USE those commonalities.

(with corrections) "Hi hopefully a few oligarks will invite Putin hunting and put in a few bullets into his commie kgb brain !
Not one to advocate violence or political elimination; but accidents happen.
The initial push should be absolute shut-down of trade to Russia and any properties held worldwide through any means found; right down to sellers on Ebay, Amazon and so on.
This employs same methodology as General W.T. Sherman, to make the populace howl.
The rest they'll do themselves.
