Today is fitting the brakes the the '48 MG TC.
I ran into a problem right from the start. I needed a tube socket to fit it. On top of that it was no standard imperial size.
I could not find the right size pipe to heat up and persuade over the nut to form a tube socket so had to make 6 cuts, persuade the pipe to take the shape of a nut and then weld up the corners. Initial idea was to add a thick walled pipe to the back and simply drill a couple of holes for a bar to be fitted to turn the socket.
But the scrap bin revealed a nice large stripped nut....Inch and a quarter once cleaned up to stay with the imperial theme.
And finally with my grand daughter pink to stop rust and to make finding the tool easy.
Now to start refitting the brakes, hopefully not any more surprises like this. it ruens my timing plan.
