Rather than put up a low bridge sign, install a camera to catch the Perp.

And everyone stopped without running over each other only a single biker laid his motor down and ran.
Yes it would have been too much to have installed a height sign, note there is not even one on the opposite traffic side either
Never try to tell me it can't be done

I thought bridges or overpasses of a certain height didn't typically need signs...perhaps the load on the trailer is excess height?

This varies State to State and Country to Country.
Generally if the height of the over head obstruction is greater than 4 or 5 feet above the legal transport height there may sometimes not be a height identifier. Roads where over dimensional loads are common there are usually signs even on much higher overpasses
Some countries have a taller maximum legal height as well this also means they have built their infrastructure to accommodate taller transported loads.
In Kuwait for example there is not a single overpass with a clear height of less than 5 .3 meters and most are in the 6 meter range or above.
Unlike here in the USA where there are still overpasses on commercial delivery routes in cities below 12 feet these were built back when trucks had a maximum legal height of 11 feet 9 inches
