I agree with Frank along with a bigger truck.

I think you're being unfair, if the clown sitting on the prow of the boat wasn't there changing the balance point, all would have been better - sarcasm OFF

Nah, he he weighed exactly the right amount to keep the trailer attached to the truck.

Many short-term solutions have been offered which will probably work okay. But, here is a longer term solution for that boater:

Had a call out with the local volunteer fire dept. Call was a car acccident on a stretch of highway 20 mies from the nearest water.. On arriving on scene found a light pickup towing a boat about half the above size. However the very inebriated driver had been swerving all over the road so much that the boat bounced off the trailer and was sliding down the road. The increased friction slowed the truck down so the driver gave it more gas. Truck eventually powered out but not before he burnt the back tires off the truck spinning them on the pavement. You can still seethe burn out marks 2yrs later. Half a bottle of vodka on the front seat explained a lot . Driver was not injured until after the RCMP officer questioned his sobriaty. He loudly protested his innocence then promptly lost his balance, fell and rolled down the embankment on edge of road during which he hit his head and split his scalp open. He got an ambulance ride instead of a police cruiser lift. A topic of conversation for quite a while

Obviously that boat is not for that trailer but if the boat was about four feet further back the tongue weight would be proper...

Many years ago I built a 3 axle gooseneck boat trailer, the customer stated he didn't think he needed brakes on all 3 axles. I told him I wouldn't even consider building it without brakes on all 3 axles. I told him your boat weighs 23,000 lbs the trailer is going to weigh about 4000 just the boat and trailer alone puts you in the over 26,000 class meaning you can not tittle and register the trailer without a DOT insp and the state comptroller getting involved, so at a minimum the trailer will have 3 9000lb axles with hydraulic brakes on all wheels and you will need the vacuum actuator kit installed in your truck.
This was because he was dead set against electric brakes and I couldn't blame him there.
His 6500 Top kick was plenty of truck
