I realize this is just semantics, but I am thinking the drone operator destroyed the drone. The poor truck was just an innocent bystander.

That WAS a very expensive drone! Their startup company is now defunct! No insurance company in the world would pay a claim on that.

That is why one usually goes out in a field to launch your drone.
Drone users get bad publicity, due to pilots like this. What idiot launches from a road into oncoming traffic? Perhaps, the truck driver was killed when he crashed.
