    He'd have been fine if he hadn't tied it off... it looked like there was plenty of relatively clear area to free drop the top, but it's impossible to tell for sure if tying off the top was necessary to prevent impact damage to stuff on the ground. My tree trimming/removal career was short lived... so I could be long lived.
