Trash can hitch mount - images and video

Trash can hitch mount. Is the entire weight of the bin supported by its crossbar? Is that OK?

These are generally available in single or double hitch options. Another strategy is to link multiple bins in series; not sure if this is the best option.

The cross bar is what is used by the compactor trucks to dump the bins so I would imagine it is designed for the weight. Obviously the bin being made of plastic you wouldn't want to fill it with dirt and try hauling it tat way but I am sure some have tried.
My trash bin is a 4.5cu yard steel dumpster I could have gotten a 1 yard plastic bin but then I would have had to roll it out every trash day then roll it back. the cost difference was only 15 dollars different per month. so for 59.00 a month it is fine by me to provide folks who live a couple miles away a place they can dump their trash instead or burning it and possibly starting a fire
