Busted me up...both of you guys. Yep, Wimpy and has a Metallica tang to me reminiscent of a few cups Navy Coffee I've had. And Boy howdy, MRE need some sauce and even more with C-rations.
‘‘Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.’’
Mark Twain
I rather liked the C rations because they were in steel cans I could toss a few on the manifold of my M123A1 10 ton tractor while in convoy then when we stopped for a break I would sell the hot meals. Every time I would get a pack of kools I'd trade them to the inner city guys for 2 packs of winstons then trade the winstons for Pell Mell or camels at the same rate.
One night I snared a rabbit then the next morning before starting out I rigged several coat hangers under the hood and hung the thin strips of meat on them. Along late in the afternoon the Col. drove past my truck then slowed down and sniffed the air just shook his head and drove on by. once we got set up at the bivouack site the Col. called me to his tent and asked for some Jerky. He said I may have the biggest ugliest truck in the convoy but it was the best smelling. we had a good laugh. Then he asked if I had rigged a still in the M88 tank retriever I told him that I hadn't been able to talk the mess sgt out of a couple of pots yet.
He said let me handle that by the time we had made it to the halfway point of the 500 mile round trip we had 4 gallons of 4 day gin.Had to leave the engine running on the 88 the whole time since the temperatures stayed below -10° the whole time that far north in Alaska for winter survival training.
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Burning weeds or pests, is a complex operation, with many consequences. Some good some bad.

on the other hand..
Burning controls weeds and pests, and improves yields in the season after burning. On the other hand, the agricultural researcher says that, over the long-term, burning destroys the soil. It causes increased soil erosion; it kills beneficial soil organisms, and eventually causes lower yields. This is a complicated subject.
