Shown is a small 18" X 5" lathe tailstock tool rack made from 3/4" red oak and finished with two coats of polyurethane spray finish. The rack is attached to wall near the rear of the lathe and allows for easy access to the various tools that fit into the tailstock. The rack can hold 11 tools in evenly spaced and staggered holes of 5/8" dia. in the front row and 1" dia. in the back row. The holes were drilled on a drill press using forstner drill bits. All the various tools shown in these photos use MT2 Morse Taper adapters. The MT2 adapters have been shortened in length to allow the lathe tailstock to fully retract to a zero setting without accidentally ejecting the tools.
