I think it is a planter, the mesh lets water drain. I am impressed by the resourcefulness of the guy, a good example of using what you have on hand.

I am a little surprised that tire was not still on a truck, it still had "lots" of tread on it!!!

Yes, some of the replies from the guy who posted the video suggest that this particular thing is a planter. He suggests that the same techniques can be used to make other things as well. Agreed, the guy is resourceful and talented at making something out of what would otherwise be rubbish.

I have a pair of Yellow Cab brand shoes that are made from recycled tires. They're not especially comfortable (tire soles and canvas uppers, no padding), but they are incredibly durable. I can step on anything, and nothing will go through the soles.

I had a pair of Mexican Huarache sandals made with tire tread soles and woven leather uppers that I wore exclusively through '71-'72 and they were still going strong when I got tired of them.

That is a bit funny, you got tired of wearing tires on your feet!!! LOL

I had those tire shoes back then also. Non skid, step on anything.

At one point I got a new pair of nicer shoes, stopped at a gas station and stepped in some gas someone spilled. While filling my tank I noticed the shoes felt "funny", the soles were melting in the gasoline!
