TipLap style tool sharpener

I was particularly interested to read about salvaging a cupped grinding wheel using plastic metal. What limits would be placed on a repair like this? I note that it was a diamond lapping plate, not an ordinary grit wheel.

To answer your question I repaired the damaged wheel section with metal putty and finished it flush with a 60 grit stone. This was done about 25 years ago and is still ok and seems to have no effect on balance ect and wears to the same level as the bond.
This was a shot to nothing as the wheel (CBN) was free as some idiot at work had tried to hit it true and chipped about i inch away. I an not recommending this but its worked for me so it may for you.
