I made this tool holder for holding a TNMC43NV carbide threading insert. The insert measures .187" thick with an I.C. of .500", it has a .200" diameter hole which is countersunk from both sides.This tool holder was machined on both sides to accept the insert on either or, With the ability to place the insert on either side of the tool lets me work closer to the chuck or closer to the tail stock of the lathe.
The tool was made from 0-1 steel, hardened, tempered, and ground all over,
