The strangely compelling and cringe-worthy awfulness of this gate reminded me of the classic 1990 Sour Milk skit, back when Chris Farley was still alive, and Saturday Night Live was still funny. Tom Hanks digs an old quart of sour milk out of the fridge, and it's so rotten that everyone just can't resist tasting it. Couldn't find it on YT, but here's a link to it: https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-l...r-milk/2868100

I remember this with other skits, some epics. It's harder to recall when SNL was funny.
Way harder.
How funny was it? At it's height late 70's, night spots were empty just before 11pm and crowds returned a bit after midnight.
That's a good measure.
Todays version, I cannot fathom catering such a narrow demographic. Maybe it's actually a commercial now, dispensing all manner of newest age BS.

I have what many of my friends call a low appreciation for slapstick comedy Benny Hill Faulty Towers Doc Martin, Monty Python's flying circus SNL Rowan & Martins laugh in, He-haw and too many others to name just never really tripped my involuntary spontaneous uncontrollable hilarity. I won't go so far as to say that Jack Benny red Skelton and a few like that couldn't cause me to break out in a few burst of laughter though
But I have to agree from the adverts I have seen about SNL it has completely lost anything it once had.
