This is the countershaft which came with a vintage lathe. The lathe has 3 drive wheels for a 3/4” flat belt. It seem best to me to screw the blanks to the faceplate as you see, since that is the intended countershaft. A spare T-rest, the electric motor, and switch were simply screwed down with it on a suitable board. This all had to be done fairly fast, since rain was threatening and there’s no room for it all inside.
