    Temporary Gantry

    If you need to lift, but not relocate a piece of equipment, here is a viable solution. Most DIY will have access to the materials required.

    Don't own a shop crane?
    Is space limited?

    Yes and managing to Get the gantry erected using a pair of ceiling jacks holding a beam against the ceiling can be the most tumultuous part of the task at hand

    That was a pretty slick lift.
    I can imagine, however, that there were a ton of hours lost fretting about the best way to do it and everything and anything that could have gone wrong.
    Almost anti-climatic that it went so easily.
