Just goes to show that your drilling jig is only as good/accurate as the operator wants to be.

If the pattern drilling is only to achieve a semblance of a safety texture then I suspect the pattern itself is the goal rather than precision placement or true perpendicular bore holes. But I would think that a concrete saw cutting a series of shallow groves would be faster more efficient and provide a safer anti slip surface
