Surface Grinder Basics part one
This video is for students that don’t have any experience on the surface grinder
60 seconds on and off - Magnet on - Make a plan - Touching off - Dressing the wheel

Your instructional videos are very useful and not only for novices. Your latest one on surface grinding prompted me to make one observation on wheel dressing, I have seen many posts showing the diamond presented to the wheel in that orientation which to me is not desirable. I have always taught new employees that the diamond should trail the wheel and not point into the direction of rotation for safety reasons.
Any misjudgment on power down feed can result in a dig in and a burst wheel as the diamond lifts into the wheel, I have seen this happen.
Hoping you view this as constructive comment, let me know what you think.

Olderdan.

I am glad that you enjoyed the video
Thank you for taking the time to comment
By taking the time you are helping me and my students
I am going to try to edit the video to include this
If I can I will re-post the video
Every one that comments on the videos have been extremely helpful
Most of the videos are not planed they are responses to problems or questions that students have
In most cases (all) the student is my camera man
Have a nice day
Ray
