I made this socket to fit serpentine a belt or timing belt.
I put a timing belt through and use it as a strap wrench. I have been able to remove the plastic caps from oil filter cartridges, used as filter wrench. I have used it to remove and install the plastic fuel pump sender rings from fuel tanks. Used it as a crankshaft pulley turner or holder using a piece of old serpentine belt.
Or I made the slots big enough to pass bicycle chain through it.
It works really well and if you leave enough belt the socket wraps around the belt and does not damage the component being removed. It is a half inch socket welded to a three quarter inch steel tube with slots cut into it and with a washer welded to it and ground down.
