Hi,
Changing tools in my collet chuck is pretty time consuming! For a lot of lower-precision drill related work, I can happily use a drill chuck, so in this video, I take the old Rohm chuck I cleaned up recently and I make a straight shank (parallel shank) arbor for it.
I was intending to turn it between centres for a super accurate result, but my live centre finally gave up the ghost (it's been notchy since I got it). This was done with the four jaw. It is accurate enough for a lot of jobs, but when the replacement centre arrives, I'll try making another to see how much more accurate I can make it.
Cheers,
Craig
