Storage container to keep my paintings

Hi all, I am a painter. I need to find a storage space to keep some of my old paintings. A few days back I read about shipping containers from here Benefits Of Shipping Container Architecture | Secure Container Solutions . It is a good storage option. When I searched deep, a lot of people are converting it to homes and for other business purposes. I am thinking of buying a container and convert it into my private space. There I can do my works without any disturbance. Also, I can keep all my paintings safe in that. What do you think about this?

I purchased a 20' to contain tools + small equipment in move across country, now provides storage.
Only things noticeable or of concern; [a] Condition of door seals, add some sort of awning or entryway [b] Add different primary locking mechanism for day to day convenience, [c] A 20' weighs more than 2 tons. Doesn't need actual foundation, but pads keep it level over time. A precast step or two up would likely assure interior stays dry. [d] Anything a home or building would have is possible, including a regular doorway, windows, skylights, wired for outlets and lights, so the high cube versions add useful ceiling height at minimal expense. [e] Main complication initially will be delivery. A flatbed/ rollback auto tow service brought mine and placed it accurately.

I'd suggest watching this YouTube vid:

I've been interested in living in and using containers for a shop. There are upsides and there are downsides. If you know the downsides I think they are a wonderfully quick way to make shelter. The downsides are they condensate so you'd have to prepare for that for your paintings. They also have been fumigated so you have to either remove or seal the wood floors. It also helps if you have welding and fabricating equipement. The mentioned link is really wonderful if you are interested in living off grid and DYI. there is also a great blog/build on the cabin part here on HMT where a guy made a remote cabin out of containers and it where I learned about the flooring and other egineering problems with containers. Good luck.
