Count me truly impressed.
Until this moment, every steampunk item I'd seen was purely decorative. No evident skills, comprehension of mechanics, or inventive sense. I paused viewing soon as the case soldering began, to write this reply.
Before as decorations, the combined elements were usually unconnected to each other, really detracted from the effect. Compared to abstract art, an implied mechanism should represent function. Those were naught but a clump of stuff.
