When I was in the Army we had "C" rations that had manufactures dates dating back to the Korean war days and even before. Once we actually ate "K" rations made just after WWI. Now htey have MRE's known as "Meals Rejected by Everyone" if they have a 10-year-old date on them I've heard they are sent to be destroyed.
