Where else can they go except straight ahead to the floor?

Does not seem like it is sorting, just changing direction. Unless there a dumpster off the end to collect the rejects.

It's a trade show display. The same trays of "meat" are cycled through. They're also not just "going to" a different conveyor, they're turning 90 deg.

what is interesting is watchign the conveyor crossover at the other end - some trays cross the other moving belt at 90 degrees without seeming to be affected.

Another interesting conveyor takes them after they've been turned. This conveyor has a solid belt that is actually curved then seamed together. The "first" roller is parallel to the sorting conveyor, while the one at the other end is perpendicular to the sorting conveyor. These usually with a solid stainless steel table underneath the rest of the belt to support the commodity being conveyed. We have 2 such conveyors at our plant and I still look at them and think how odd it seems to be able to have a solid belt that makes a 90 deg. turn and travels faster at the outside edge than it does at the inside edge...
