I made this bull bar for my little John Deere as i had to remove the grille & often the engine side panels & lift the bonnet due to field mice, rats, & antechinus making homes in the unit. SMELLY B's.
The bar was fine for a counter weight on the flats but left a little to be desired on slopes.
I kept my 3 by 20kg weights from my previous Kubota and use along with bar bell weights where I can't fix a clamp. I know it is not "the way to do it" but I have done so with reasonable success when the need arises.
I needed to be able to retrieve the weights as required so cut a slot in the universal beam and then used my die grinder to shape the inside of the uni beam to allow a tight fit but removable of the weights.
If 2 are not enough (ok so far but not on the very steep area of my property) then I will add another but will have to remove the nebulus bolt tapper through the uni channel into the rail line as it is in the middle. (The end welds hold fine).
Cheers,
Ranald
