Small Pallet Lifter -- For Scaffold Crane

I thought I would do a detailed post about the construction of the pallet lifter that I use with the scaffold crane.

I needed a small pallet lifter with about 100lbs or less capacity. I looked around at my material stock, worked up a basic design and then did some cursory number crunching.

I came up with the following....
Here is the steel bar and tube cut out.


Then I started welding things together.

I continued with the welding....



I was also working on the rest of the crane, but I'll post those details in a separate thread.

It was then ready to give it a test.....

Once all the welding was complete, it was time to test it.


After I used it for a period of time, I finally had a chance to take it inside the shop and clean it up for paint.

I ended up painting it yellow with a few of the parts a grey.





Then I continued to use it for the rest of my bricking project.



Notice that the wheels are easy to take on and off. They are simply 5/8" bolts welded into an angle iron that slides into the pallet lifter tube. The wheels are from Harbor Freight.
