I had been keeping some of my smaller files separately in one drawer of a wooden tool box. I wanted to keep the files much closer to one of the vises with soft copper jaws for precision finishing work. This small 11” x 3/8” oak file rack was exactly I needed to make and keep these closer to the vise. Also the files were installed with small wood handles I bought years ago but these could never be used because the files with larger handles would not fit in the wooden tool box.
This rack only took a few minutes to fabricate and the oak rack was finished with Deft semi-gloss varnish spray. Ironically the old small piece of oak molding was in my wood bin for burning in our fireplace and now it has a new purpose in my shop.
Thank you for looking,
