My father had a patent on this in the 70s or 80s for his cable reel manufacturing In Phoenix Arizona. Some Canadians came down to look at it, and went home and built the duplicate of his product. They told him to dismantle his, as they filed for a patent pending. He flew to Canada and showed them proof of the patent, and they about crapped themselves. He had them start torching it, right then and there. He did not make them torch the nailer, (Wiley brand, I believe). My dad called his a carousel and it would hold four flanges with a take away conveyor with automatic rotation.
Your Slab flipper looks cool, especially your wooden gears, However I see a few problems arising upon actual heavy overhanging weight being introduced.
1. The weight of the overhang will cause the "wheel" to be relying simply on the mid lower guide wheel, in other words you will get severe uplift on your main wheel.
Without having the pleasure of seeing how your internal construction was accomplished, I would be most concerned with that uplift issue I spoke of.
